Unknown Motive

“I suppose you don’t use your werewolf powers often?” Jack spoke as they moved slowly through the forest. He held her hand loosely in his and tugged her along, now they could hear the distant chaos up ahead and Denise could smell the scent of familiar people. It seemed her family were one of the few who got invited to the ceremony. She didn’t want them to see her like this…but it couldn’t be helped.

Would they even care if she died tonight?

“No.” She answered in a low mumble, while picking at her thumb with her nails. “It makes it hard to stay in control.”

Her leg had almost finished healing. And the bruise on her cheek was already nonexistent. Ever since she was a child, her body healed quicker than the average wolf, but she was still yet to decide whether that was good or bad. Sometimes, she preferred the pain and other times, she didn’t.
